Red Ribbon Proclamation

Johnson County Mayor Larry Potter declares the week of October 23-31, 2010 as Red Ribbon Week in Johnson County by signing a proclamation.
Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in community anti-drug events, young people pledge to live a drug-free life and pay tribute to DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena.
In partnership with Johnson County School system, the National Guard, Burger King and other organizations, the ACTION Coalition helps raise awareness in the community by displaying red ribbons on businesses in the city and by holding a prevention day at Burger King with drug free activities for the youth.
