Youth Football League holds Homecoming games

Another big win this past Saturday for the Jr. Pee Wees! Longhorns defeated Hampton Bulldogs 28-0. The defense did not allow the Bulldogs to score , which makes the 3rd straight week. Ethan Snyder led the team in tackles and was also excellent on the O-line along with Rash, & Arnold. All the players efforts were commendable making this Jr. Pee Wee teams' record 5-2 and 5-1 in the East Conference. This coming Saturday the Longhorns will face the Highlanders at Cloudland. Go Longhorns!!!

The Johnson County Mighty Mite Longhorns defense came to play Saturday morning for the Longhorns annual Homecoming game as they shut out the Hampton Bulldogs by the score of 7-0. The defense was led by Ty McElyea with 7 tackles, followed by Evan Dollar with 6 tackles. Caleb Pierce, Rex Ranck and Connor Simcox contributed with 3 tackles apiece, followed by Dalton Osborne with 2 and Garrett Trivette, Ethan Reece, Connor Pierce and Graham Reece all with 1 each. The offense was led by Mason Shankel with 17 yards rushing and a touchdown, followed by Gavin Wilson with 50 yards, Colby Dollar with 15 yards and Tanner Marshall with 9 yards and an extra point.
Pee Wee Report
The Johnson County Pee Wee team beat Delta Force out of Kingsport Saturday 39 to 6. This gives the Pee Wee team a overall record of 4 wins 3 losses and winners of their last 4 games. Bud Icenhour had 71 yards on 7 carries, 1 touchdown on a kick return of 80 yards and scored 2 other touchdowns on interceptions returns and had 5 tackles on defense. Nathan Arnold had 30 yards on 4 carries and a touchdown and he was 3 for 4 passing for 21 yards. Gage Hampton had 14 yards on 2 carries and had 5 tackes on defense. Shane Greer had 11 yards on 2 carries and 1 tackle.Will Kerley had 24 yards on 3 carries and a touchdown and had 6 tackles. Sean Lewis caught 3 passes for 21 yards and had 1 had 1 tackle. R J Snyder, Josh Herman, Cole Snyder, Alex Calderon and Jimmy Bower all had 2 tackles each. Hayden Osborne, Eric Davis, Jimmy Brown all had 1 tackle in the Game. Next game will be against Cloudland at 7:00 Saturday night at Cloudland.
Grasscutters Report
The Johnson County Longhorn Grasscutters lost to the Hampton Bulldog Grasscutterteam on Saturday with a score of 32-6. The Longhorns showed great strength in their defense during the second half, but it failed to be enough by the end of the fourth quarter.
The Longhorns were led by Ethan Woody with 150 yards rushing, 5 yards on kickoff return, 1 touchdown, and 8 tackles. Leo Melissarishad 7 yards rushing, 15 yards on kickoff return, and 2 tackles. Ethan Bower had 18 yards rushing and 2 tackles. Ethan Campbell had 2 sacks and 5 tackles. Gavin Trivette had one sack and 4 tackles. Chance Phillips had 4 tackles. Xander Mann had one sack, 1 fumble recovery, and 3 tackles. Gregory Niemann had 3 tackles. Tyler Parker and Ethan Norris each had 2 tackles. Jordan Williams, Zachary Parsons, and Randy Norris each had 1 tackle. Excellent offense was played by Logan Gilley and Zek Watson throughout the entire game.
The league celebrated Homecoming on Saturday with a ceremony at halftime honoring all cheerleaders. Thank you to the Johnson County Youth Football Board for making Saturday a pleasant experience for all.
