Youth Football League battles with Cloudland

The Jr. Pee Wees played hard but came up short to the Cloudland Highlanders this past Saturday with the final score 34-12. Next week is our last scheduled game against the Bristol Vikings Black at Tenn. High school at 12:30.

The Johnson County Mighty Mite Longhorns traveled to Roan Mountain to face the Cloudland Highlanders on Saturday in Cloudland’s pink game for breast cancer awareness. The Longhorns fought hard but came away with an 18-12 defeat. The offensive line blocked very hard all day against a bigger Highlander defense. The Longhorn line consist of Connor Pierce, Myles Arney, Hank Sauer, Isaiah Bennett, Dalton Osborne, Ty McElyea and Elijah Henson. They opened some big holes for Gavin Wilson who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown. Colby Dollar also had 17 yards rushing and a touchdown. Tanner Marshall had 12 yards rushing and Mason Shankel had 2 yard rushing on the day. The defense was led by Connor Simcox with 2 tackles, followed by Rex Ranck with 1 and Mason Shankel with 1. Mason, Evan Dollar and Rex Ranck all recover fumbles for the defense. This drops the Longhorns record to 3-5 on the season.
