Winning produces another must-win game

By Tim Chambers
Johnson County looked like a fish without fight three weeks ago but back-to-back wins have made them a little “eel.” The Longhorns are playing with a chip on their shoulder after many had written them off for the season.
They’ll play their biggest game of the year on Friday, the same as last Friday and the one before.
That’s because all games are must win games from here on out. There is no margin of error for the Longhorns. Such will be the case on Friday against Northview.
The Cougars are 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in league play. They are currently tied with Pigeon Forge for second place.
Johnson County, Unicoi County and Chuckey-Doak are log jammed at 2-2. But that will change again after Friday.
The Longhorns can take a major leap toward making the playoffs with a win over Northview and here is why.
The Cougars will host Unicoi County next week but must travel to Elizabethton for their last game. Two losses would give them three in league play. The Longhorn would own the tiebreaker.
Chuckey-Doak has the toughest schedule and has dropped two straight. They’ll be a heavy underdog when they face Elizabethton and Pigeon Forge. This would saddle them with four league losses.
