High School
The Johnson County junior varsity boys earned a berth in the championship game at Fort Chiswell on Monday. They knocked off Radford 55-41 after defeating Carroll County 55-21 on Saturday.
Blake Atwood had 14 points and Daniel Cunningham added 13 in their win over Radford. Dawson Snyder chipped in with nine. Sean Lewis provided seven and Jayden Joiner rang up six.
Closing out the scoring was Gabe Reece with two and Zack Eller with one.
A well-balanced scoring attack was evident in their win over Carroll County.
Sean Lewis and Iain Tester tallied nine each. Jordan Edes-King hit for eight points. Dawson Snyder and Caden Arnold scored six apiece. Troy Arnold had a good rebounding game in addition to his five points. Rounding out the scoring was Jayden Joiner with four, Gavin and Gabe Reece with three points each and two from Daniel Cunningham.

Head coach David Arnold complimented his teams play over the past two days.
Weve had a lot of kids step up and play well, said Arnold. Its not just been one or two players. Weve had kids come in off the bench and play well. Jayden Joiner has stepped and so has Troy Arnold on the rebounding end. Gabe Reece has given us some good minutes too. Its been a total team effort.
Middle School
The 7th grade Longhorns bounced back after a tough loss to T.A. Dugger to knock off Cloudland 47-37 in the seventh grade tournament at Hampton Elementary School. Theyll now play for 5th place on Wednesday at 3 pm.
Ian Norris led the way with 13 points including three treys. Ryan Morefield and Cody Norris added nine points apiece. Clayton Cross played well and scored seven. Clay Stanley tossed in four and Tyler Wilson gathered three.
The Lady Longhorns were defeated by Cloudland and will play in the consolation game for third place at 4:20.
