Johnson County traveled to Blountville on Monday to split a pair of tennis matches with Sullivan Central.
The boys took a 7-2 win. Central prevailed by the same score in the girls’ match.

“I thought our boys played exceptionally well,” said head coach Eric Crabtree. “I think that Mitchell Stockinger played his best match of the season.”

Stockinger rolled 8-2 in his match. Spencer Stanley prevailed 8-6. Chris Artidiello earned a win as did Austin Norris and Ethan Carroll in doubles.
Caleigh Blair won her singles match. Gracie May and Ashton Henson took their doubles matches.

“We battled tough conditions all day,” added Crabtree. “The wind was blowing hard and our girls never seemed to get in a rhythm. But I saw more good things than bad. They’re all starting to come around.”
