Snyder powers Jr. Lady 'Horns to victory over Unaka

It was a hard-fought, defensive contest but the Johnson County Lady Jr. Longhorns (5-3) (2-0) finally proved victorious by beating Unaka 4-2 and securing another Little Watauga Valley Conference victory.
The win kept the Lady ’Horns (2-0, 5-3) unbeaten and tied for first with Happy Valley in league play.
Brianna Snyder, Jr. Longhorn pitcher launched an impressive homerun in the top of the sixth. Shortstop Jayme Jennings emerged as the defensive leader in the field for the Lady Jr. Longhorns.
The Jr. Lady ‘Horns racked up nine hits on the evening including two from Kelsey Duperry, Tiffany Price, and Tasha Walsh and single hits from Brianna Snyder, Kelsie Terrill, Amanda Potter, and Jayme Jennings.
“I was really proud of Brianna, and the way she sparked our offense with her first career out of the park homer late,” commented coach Greg Reece. “We need to remain consistent on defense and find that offensive surge in every game.”
