A number of coaching changes have taken place in recent weeks and a few of those can be found in Johnson County. Tennis and track will have new coaches and girls’ basketball has done a complete facelift.
Former girls’ basketball assistant, Zack Pittman, will move over to lead the tennis team while tennis coach, Eric Crabtree, will guide the track squad.

Pittman was a standout tennis player in high school at Mitchell County. He has a good nucleus returning that should bode well for his first year.
Crabtree will take over the track squad after Cory Henson’s departure. He has served as a former volleyball and tennis coach and each of those programs had success under his guidance.
The golf program could see changes but no announcement has been made as of yet.
Hampton’s longtime assistant coach, Garry Smith, will bring his knowledge to the Lady Longhorns, joining head coach Leon Tolley. He and Tolley worked their magic in helping build the Bulldogs into one of Northeast Tennessee’s top programs.
Kechia Eller will join them as an assistant after two successful campaigns as the middle school girls’ coach.
It’s reported that former standout athlete, Brad Dunn, will help as an assistant coach with the high school football team.
Former Cloudland player, Brooke Boone, has been hired to coach the girls’ middle school basketball team. She will be assisted by Chris Dumbar who coached the seventh grade boys’ basketball and baseball teams.
