Longhorns stay at No. 3 in 3-A poll

Johnson County remains at No. 3 in the latest Associated Press Class 3A poll after knocking off North Greene 54-8 on Friday. Alcoa remains at No. 1 at beating Kingston who was ranked No. 9 last week 42-14.
Raleigh Egypt (8-0) remains at No. 2 after their bye week. The Pharaohs have outscored their last seven opponents 330-41 after defeating Arlington 36-35 in their season opener.
Austin East follows the Longhorns at No. 4 after their impressive 33-6 win over Pigeon Forge. Pearl-Cohn remains at Nol. 5 after their bye week.
Covington moved up to No. 6 after defeating South Gibson 48-21 who is drops to No. 9. Loudon climbed to No. 7 with their 36-13 win over Sweetwater.
Red Bank’s 30-12 win over Brainerd earned them a No. 8 spot. Fairview moved in at No. 10 with their 48-7 victory over Harpeth. The Yellow Jackets (6-2) have outscored their last four opponents 190-7 and they are averaging 42 points per game and their two losses were to Waverly and Page who are both ranked in the 2A and 1A polls.
