The Lady Longhorns came away with a tennis victory over South Greene last week while the boys fell big despite some close matches.
The girls earned a 5-4 win.
Caleigh Blair, Gracie May and Ashyton Henson won their matches in singles play. Blair took her match 6-4 while Henson and May took their matches 6-4.
Olivia and Taylor Cox scored a 7-5 victory on the doubles side. Blair and Hailey Lowe won 6-3 that allowed them to take the win.
Dalton Sluder scored a 7-6 win in boys’ singles play while Benji Bower claimed a 6-4 win.
Mason Stanley and Kris Artidiello played well in doubles before falling 6-7. Noah Nelson and Noah Cox fell by the same identical score.
Ethan Carroll and Gavin Gutierrez fought hard in their 5-7 loss.
“The girls played very well and the boys could have won their match if a few of those close matches would have fallen our way,” said head coach Eric Crabtree. “South beat us pretty good but I saw a lot of improvement in those matches from our kids. We played right with people. It’s great to see the kids being competitive in every match.”
