Johnson County 13
Hampton 3
It probably would have been easier getting a Christmas gift from Ebenezer Scrooge than getting a base hit off Johnson County’s Deanna Younce on Tuesday. The young hurler struck out 12 batters in a five-inning affair won by the Longhorns 13-3 over Hampton.
Hampton’s only two hits were divided between Hannah Collins and Haley Taylor. The Longhorns made the most of their eight hits that led to a baker’s dozen of runs.
Hannah Brooks tripled and scored on a passed ball in the first inning. Their lead was extended at 5-0 after three.
Tiffany Price blasted a two-run triple for the biggie. Abby Cornett’s single closed out the four-run outburst.
