Johnson County Middle School drops a pair to Happy Valley

Happy Valley used a strong second half to overcome Johnson County 47-42 on Monday.
The Longhorns led 24-19 at the half but were outscored 28-18 in the final two quarters.
Lucas Phillips recorded a game high 16 points to lead the Longhorns.  Dylan Simcox and Darren Cunningham added eight and seven points respectively.
The Warriors placed three players in double figures. Cameron Steven led the way with 15. Will Tittle and Luke Roberts tallied 12 apiece.

A scoreless second quarter by Johnson County would hurt their chances to pick up a big win.
Taylor Parsons led the ‘Horns with seven. Sadie Stout and Abby Cornett tallied four apiece.

7th Grade Boys’ Game
Johnson County 32
Happy Valley 21
Clayton Cross scored nine points and Stacy Greer added seven in Johnson County’s 32-21 victory in the seventh grade game. Ian Norris provided a half dozen points for the Horns who got five more from Clay Stanley and a deuce by Cody Norris.
Blake Young scored eight and Tyler Mounts seven to lead the Warriors.

NOTE: The Longhorns dropped a pair of games to Cloudland on Friday. The boys were beaten 42-35 while the girls dropped a nail biter 30-28 contest.
Lucas Phillips had 11 points and Andrew Dugger 10 in their loss to the Highlanders. Dylan Simcox just missed double figures with eight.
Taylor Parsons led the Lady Longhorns with 12. Abby Cornett had a good game scoring eight.
