Johnson County 11-12s cruise past Blountville
Although Mother Nature played havoc throughout much of the contest, Johnson County Little Leagues 11 and 12 year-old All-Stars proved they came to play against Blountville in Gray at Daniel Boones Little League Park. The local boys took an early 2-0 lead after Philip Dugger launched one over the center field fence in the second inning scoring himself and Daniel Livorsi, who had snagged an earlier single.
Johnson Countys Bud Icenhour proved deadly on the mound. He was relieved in the fourth inning by Daniel Livorsi, who also pitched well.
Johnson County manager Brad Reece was pleased with the way his team played. He stressed the importance of taking the lead early. We had outstanding pitching, said Reece, and although overall we didnt hit it as well as I would have liked, we hit it when we needed to and came away with a good win.
The Johnson County team is scheduled to play again on Tuesday evening in the winners bracket.
