Hannah Brooks had a players dream against Happy Valley. The Junior High Warriors are still having nightmares about it.
Brooks blasted two home runs and two doubles in Johnson Countys 20-9 on Friday. She also drove in eight runs and scored five times.
I guess things might have looked a little tense there in the fourth inning when we feel behind, said JCMS head coach Greg Reece. But the girls were confident and never got down. We had some mistakes to let HV get back in it but they played us tough. It is good to face some adversity and bounce back from it and have a huge inning offensively. Happy Valley took a 2-0 lead in the first but Brooks was quick to help erase the deficit.
Her three-run double gave the Junior Lady Longhorns a 3-2 lead. They would never fall behind again in the game.
Happy Valley trailed 6-4 after the third inning. Johnson County put the game away by scoring 11 times in the fourth.
Brooks pulled off an amazing feat in that frame.
