JCHS Golf Team improving by leaps and bounds as season begins

By Matt Hill

After being rained out at home last Tuesday, the JCHS Golf Team was back in action on Thursday at Buffalo Valley and the Longhorns played extremely well.
JCHS improved 15 stokes from their previous visit to Buffalo Valley by shooting a 192 in a match with Unicoi County and University High.
The Longhorns received a stellar performance from sophomore Jacob Henson, who shot a 44 on the round.
Sawyer Ward and Jon Vannoy came in with a 48 and a 49, respectively.

“I told the boys that our goal was to improve at least one stroke per match and they went out and shot a team score of 192,” JCHS head golf coach Steve Arnold said.
Arnold hopes the team will continue to play smart.
