JCHS Baseball upset by Happy Valley

A rough few days for the JCHS Baseball became even rougher on Monday afternoon.
The Longhorns fell to last-place Happy Valley 9-6 at Longhorn Field in game that saw a lot of twists and turns.
It looked like Chad Hodgkiss was going to be the hero when his double drove in Danny Herman to give the Longhorns a 5-4 advantage going into the seventh.
It looked like it was going to be a storybook ending and Hodgkiss was going to be able to have a moment he would never forget.
In the top of the seventh, the nightmare began.
The Warriors took advantage of two errors and several walks and in the end, Happy Valley scored five runs.
The score was 9-5 Happy Valley and the Warriors had pretty much secured a major upset victory.
JCHS rallied to cut the Happy Valley lead to 9-6 with a double from Harley Reece. The bases were loaded when Hodgkiss once again came up to the plate, but wasn't able to have the same fortune as his previous at bat.
The Longhorns lost a game that they led 4-1 and it was a day to forget for JCHS.
Sawyer Ward had three singles, Sammy Hampton had two singles, Harley Reece had a double along with Hodgkiss and Mark Jennings netted a single.
