Mrs. Sharon Diane Stanton Sheets, 63, of Hickory, went home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice, following a period of declining health.
Diane was born on November 19, 1952 in Carter County, TN to the late Charlie Houston Stanton and Evelyn Clawson Stanton. She was a member of Refuge Baptist Church in Hickory and was previously employed in the furniture industry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sgt. Major Charles Stanton and a nephew, Charles Stanton II.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Sheets of the home, two daughters; Angel Crawley and husband Kevin of Nebo and Martha S. Henson of Connelly Springs; one son, Fred Sheets of the home; a sister, Darlene Layton of Newberry, SC and a brother, Jimmy Stanton of Gulfport, MS. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; James Ashe and wife Leah, Timothy Ashe and wife Chelsey, Ashley Traxler, Joseph Henson, Natalie Henson, Isaiah Sheets and Hannah Sheet; three great-grandchildren, Emma Ashe, Ryder Lee Byrd and Mason Traxler, extended family; Scott Bolin, Andy Price and Vivian Ledford and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Ernest Bartley and Rev. Bill Ashe officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
