Sarah Elizabeth Dillard Price, age 86, of Bristol, TN, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Wellmont Hospice House, surrounded by all her family. She was born October 5, 1926 in Bristol, TN, a daughter of the late Marcus and Molly Kate Dillard. Mrs. Price lived most of her life in the Bristol area but had also lived in Mountain City, TN for years, where she worked in production at Burlington Industries. She was of the Baptist faith and also enjoyed attending services at The Salvation Army. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Herman Price, a son, Charles William Price, great-grandchild, Phillip Dowell, great-great granddaughter, Alyssa Musick, sisters, Lucy Carter, Fannie Moats and Julie Mahala and a brother, Oscar Dillard.
Mrs. Price dearly loved her children, great grandchildren and all of her family. She was an avid shopper and was always known for making sure all of her loved ones got a Christmas present. She also loved playing cards and reading. Sarah will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include: daughters: Sarah Mahala and husband Raymond, Osa Dowell and husband Paul, Debbie Brown and husband Wayne; sons: Frank Price and wife Darlene, Kenny Price, Mark Price and special friend Lisa, Paul Landon Price; twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; sister: Ida Perry and husband Teddy; brother: John Branson and wife Annie; special caregiver: Nancy Flick.
The funeral service for Mrs. Price will be held at 11AM Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Minister Harold Dowell, officiating. The committal service and interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Price’s grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM Tuesday, at the funeral home.
