Richard N. St. John, 77, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away August 16 at Watauga Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. St. John was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the eldest son of the late Chester and Dorothy St. John. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he spent his working years in Wood Products sales, traveling to many different areas of the world. Upon retirement, he moved to Johnson County where he became involved in church and community activities.
Mr. St. John is survived by his wife, Romayne; his daughter, Andrea, and her husband, Hans Nocher, of Lincolnton, North Carolina; and his daughter, Julie, and her partner, George Govus, of Snow Camp, North Carolina. He also leaves behind one brother, David St. John, of Fort Wayne; one sister, Sandra Brandlin, of Petaluma, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His brother, Robert St. John, and two sisters, Patricia Palmer and Tharon Baker, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at First United Methodist Church.
