Opal Hash, 81, of Taylors Valley, VA passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. She was born in Laurel Bloomery, TN and was a daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth Chambers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Hash; and two sons, Roger Hash and Calvin Hash.
She had lived in Taylors Valley, VA for the past forty years and was a member of Taylors Valley Christian Church. She loved to read, crochet, quilt, and was an avid University of Tennessee football fan.
She is survived by two sons, David Hash of Laurel Bloomery, TN and Mark Hash and his wife, Eva, of Taylors Valley, VA; a daughter-in-law, Gina Hash of Prescott, AZ; one sister, Shirley Brown of Laurel Bloomery, TN; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to SWVA Home Health for all their loving care shown to Opal, especially Thelma Harrington and Louise Greenly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:45 PM Friday, May 26, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Mr. Maurice Widener, minister officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Jackson Lewis Cemetery in Taylors Valley, VA.
