II Timothy 4:7-8: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Mrs. Jerlene (Jeri) Forrester, 74, of Bristol, TN made her heavenly journey home to join family and friends in heaven. She passed away peacefully on April 29, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.
Mrs. Forrester was born on June 18, 1942 to the late Ervy and Helen Crigger. She was a 1960 graduate of Tennessee High School. After raising her family, she became a hairdresser where her clients became her close friends. She retired in 2012. She was a longtime member of Fellowship Chapel Church. She loved her church family and was a member of the L.A.M.B. ministry where she made afghans for the sick in the church, patients at the cancer center. This ministry was her pride and joy. She also helped cook in the church kitchen as part of the Senior Saints. Jeri had a heart of gold and loved helping people. She was a wonderful wife, and loving, encouraging mother. She was always there for her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Edd Forrester, her devoted daughters; Tina Forrester of Bristol, Virginia, Debbie Forrester Isley and son-in-law Kenny Isley of Bristol, Virginia, and her special maltese dog, Kobe, whom she adored.
A special thank you to her best friends, Ann Sadler and Bonnie Flynn who have been so devoted to her and the family during this difficult time, and to her neighbors, Patsy Stophel, Heather Stophel, Judy Thomas, Iris Pavio, and sweet Lexi, who have visited and prayed over her.
The family would like to thank her church family, neighbors and friends for their visits, support and prayers, her doctors and medical staff for their excellent care during her illness, and all those who have extended a helping hand during this time.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Fellowship Chapel Church with Pastor Scott Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Glenwood Cemetery. It was Jeri’s wish that in lieu of flowers, memorials contributions be made to the L.A.M.B. Ministry, Fellowship Chapel Church, 201 Crockett Street, Bristol, VA 24201.
