Michael David Whitehouse, age 67, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was born on September 20, 1950 in Gofforth, England to the late Dennis Whitehouse and Joan Tulley Whitehouse. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Dotzheimer Whitehouse and sister, Sheila Whitehouse.
Michael retired from the United States Air Force following 20 years of service. During his military career he served as a C141 Pilot and Lieutenant Colonel. Following his retirement, Michael devoted his life to serving God as a missionary. He had served as Director at Camp Ta-pa-win-go for over 8 years and was a Missionary in Johnson County for over 20 years. He also worked with the Children’s Bible Ministry (CBM) for many years in Johnson County. Michael received his Master’s Degree from Troy State in Alabama.
Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Sarah Whitehouse Tubia of Raleigh, NC; sister, Heather Heiler of Baltimore, MD, brothers, Peter Whitehouse of Cleveland, OH and Richard Whitehouse of Upperco, MD, nieces, Erin Whitehouse, Meghan Mahanta and Kirsten Badre, nephew, Michael Heiler, several great nieces and great nephews, aunt, Pat Aldridge of York, England, his many, many friends that he has made through the years at CBM.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 10, 2018 from 2-3:00 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastors Dwayne Dickson and Ron Drake officiating. Special music will be provided by Nancy Davis. Graveside service and burial with military honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow from the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Johnson County Gideons will serve as pallbearers.
