Marjorie Stump, age 98 of 288 W E Neatherly Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 after a brief illness in the Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center, 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee. Ms. Stump was the daughter of the late W. L. and Ellen Tester Neatherly. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Paul Stump in 1992. Two brothers, Earl Neatherly and James R. Neatherly. Two sisters, Christine E. Morefield and Mabel C. Gentry.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Barker of Mountain City, Tennessee and Peggy Fleenor of Bristol, Virginia; four nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2011 in the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Dwayne Dickson officiating. The family received friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service. Due to inclement weather there was not a formal graveside service and burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
At other times friends may call at the home of Mary Barker, 240 WE Neatherly Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. A special “Thank You” from the family to the staff of Mountain City Care Center.
