Mrs. Margaret Johnson Glenn, age 74, of 1564 Joe Shoemaker Road, Vilas, died Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Glenn was born April 24, 1937 in Johnson County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Booker B. Johnson and Lura May Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by her husband, Lenney R. Glenn of the home; one daughter, Penny Keller and husband Randy of Sugar Grove; one son, William Glenn and wife Shannon of Vilas; three granddaughters, Michelle Keller and fiancé Wes Nelson, Ashley Glenn, and April Glenn, all of Vilas; three grandsons, James Keller and Jessie Glenn, both of Sugar Grove, and Luke Glenn of Vilas; one great-grandson, Carter Nelson of Vilas; one great-granddaughter, Eternity Glenn of Sugar Grove; one sister, Lois Lipford of Mountain City, and one brother, James Johnson and wife Joyce of Creston. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Robert and Hamilton Johnson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Johnson Glenn were conducted Thursday evening, January 5, 2012, at 8:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body lay in state at the chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Officiating were Reverend Carl Wilson and Reverend Herbert McCoy. Graveside services and burial were conducted Friday morning, at 10:00 o'clock, at Willow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
