Margaret Elaine Humphrey Bruner (FiFi)

Margaret Elaine Humphrey Bruner (FiFi), age 63 of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born November 7, 1948 in Washington County, TN to the late Joseph W. and Lonie Huffman Humphrey. She was also the adopted daughter of the late Julius and Kathleen Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolas Eugene Bruner; a son, Howard Scott Bruner and her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and James H. Powell.

Margaret is survived by three sons: David Eugene Bruner and fiancé, Lydia Ashley Vance of Lenoir, NC, James Edwin Bruner and fiancé, Caroline Esch of Hickory, NC, and Randy Eugene Bruner and wife Loretta of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Edwin Humphrey and wife Norma Jean of Mountain City, TN; four nieces: Elizabeth Holland and Debbie Bryant, both of Mountain City, TN and Barbara Fleeman and Margaret Bowman, both of Lenoir, NC; one nephew, Eddie Powell of OH; several great nieces and nephews and close friends: Carolyn Turvey and Jodie Nazaroff of Oak Ridge, TN.

Margaret had worked at Harper Furniture for 28 years and Vantage Foods for two years. She was also a member of Crossroads Community Church and a member of Lenoir Amateur Radio Club, call sign KI4QYA. She loved to say “see you later alligator”.

A celebration of Margaret’s life was held at Crossroads Community Church on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Bowman officiating.
Memorial service and her final resting place will be held at a later date at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
