Leta F. Dorman, age 46, of 1325 Slimp Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Tuesday morning, April 19, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a daughter of Al Lawson and the late Ilene Payne Lawson. Leta loved gardening, sewing, cooking and the church. She was a member of Victory Chapel Cowboy Church.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janine “Tiki” Norris.
Survivors include: her husband, Gary Dorman, of the home; two sons: Jake Dorman and wife Brittany and Zackary Dorman, all of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Cathy Zingler and husband Gary of Marietta, GA and Missy Cornett and husband Charlie of Murrells Inlet, SC; two brothers: John Alexander and wife Nancy of Butler, TN and P.D. Lawson and wife Sandy of Mountain City, TN; two grandsons: Nathanial and Carson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Leta F. Dorman were conducted 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 from Victory Chapel Cowboy Church with Rev. Carroll Hayworth officiating.
The family received friends from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment followed in Gambill Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers: John Alexander, P.D. Lawson, Charlie Cornett, Gary Zingler, Bronson Alexander, Jeremy Alexander, Ray Zingler and Willie Rork. Honorary pallbearers: Bryce Cook, Dennis Topcik and Danny Kats.
In lieu of flowers, it was Leta’s request that contributions be made to SmileTrain-Dept. Mag., P.O. Box 96211, Washington, DC 20090-6211.
