L.C. Fletcher, age 67, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born in Butler, Tennessee and was the son of the late Joseph William and Mary Ellen Presnell Fletcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy, George, and Glenn Fletcher; and a special aunt, Bletie Reece.
Mr. Fletcher was a carpenter and a member of Memorial Union Church, where he previously served as a Trustee.
Survivors include his wife, Petrecia “Patty” Fletcher, of the home; two daughters, Carol Parker and husband Carl, Galivants Ferry, SC; and Patricia “Trish” Fletcher, Galivants Ferry, SC; one son, Carl Fletcher and wife Melissa, Dillon, SC; two step daughters, Retha England and husband John, Sparta, TN; and Jaime Brown and husband David, Belfonte, PA; three grandchildren, Josey Parker, Justin Parker and wife Mindy, and KayLee Fletcher; three great grandchildren, Allison, Gracie, and Carlie; two step grandchildren, Ian and Hannah; one sister, Naomi Bays and husband Frank; one aunt, Opal Presnell. Several nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends and family from Myrtle Beach and Elizabethton also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Fletcher were conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, with Pastor Scotty Whitson and Pastor C. R. Shupe, officiating. The family received friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM prior to the service. Music was under the direction of Bobby Whitson.
The graveside service was conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Butler. Active pallbearers were Johnny Bays, Lonnie Turner, Randy Whitson, Lloyd Myers, Gerald Thomas, Bobby Whitson, Harry Hill, and Chuck Hill. Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Stevens, Frank Bays, and his church family at Memorial Union and Elizabethton First Church of God.
