James Elwood Isley, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at High Point Regional Medical Center. James was born to the late Oadist and Blanche Boone Isley in Almance County, NC. He was a Navy Veteran during peace time. James was a manager for Burlington Industries for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Thomasville and he was a Mason. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Isley.
Mr. Isley is survived by his wife, Marian Scales Isley; son, Eddie Isley and daughter, Joan Isley Heilig and husband, Lee, all of High Point; three grandchildren, Kelsi Heilig Grace and husband, Stephen, Logan Elizabeth Isley and Cameron Brooks Isley; nephew Butch Isley and a niece, Linda Fogleman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Burial will follow in the Bellemont United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4038 Markwood Dr., Burlington, NC 27215.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Avenue in High Point.
