James Delmar Mullins, age 76, of 524 North Church Street, Mountain City, TN passed away Sunday January 8, 2012 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was a native of Johnson County, a son of the late Robert and Lura Frances Potter Mullins. Mr. Mullins was a U S Army veteran and retired from the University of California as a maintenance foreman. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, his wife, Willa Whitlock Mullins and two brothers, Robert Mullins Jr. and Boyd G. Mullins, preceded him in death.
Funeral services for James D. Mullins were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from the Hero’s Chapel of the Johnson County Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Fletcher officiating. Music was by the Fletcher Family. Interment followed in the Reece Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors are sister, Ola Fleeman and husband Enoch, Mountain City; nephews, Timothy Mullins, Robert Mullins, Keith Hall and Troy Hall; niece, Cynthia Hall.
Pallbearers were Jack Fleeman, Bob Mullins, Matt Mullins, John Davis, James Hayworth and Hubert Loggins. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Mullins, Wendell Potter, Richard Shoun, Harold Phillippi, and Roby Phillippi.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 P M Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the funeral home chapel.
