Hetty Gross Murphy, borne of the rugged beauty of south eastern Kentuckys, Leslie and Harlan Counties. Lacking in formative educations, but imbued with the desire to succeed, from a day laborer in the vegetable fields of Arizona, to the cotton fields of Texas, a succession of trials and tribulations to numerous to mention. She rose to the position of City Manager of a small town in west Texas. A devout Christian and centurion to God. 040520 – 02026, 0972480 – 12156. Onward to AbendHeim.
Surviving is son, Bonell Smith and wife Louise of Butler, TN; granddaughter, Tracy Michele Smith of Mesa, AZ; half-brother, Leslie Whitehead; half sisters, Annalee and Ruby Whitehead; many nieces and nephews and a myrid of admiring friends.
