Mrs. Helen M. Dickens, age 76, of Dawsonville, GA died Sunday, December 30, 2012 following an extended illness.
Helen had lived in Lumpkin County since 1971. She was retired from the Lumpkin County Middle School where she had been a custodian for over 30 years, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Helen was the daughter of the late James E. and Bebe Swift Dugger, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Dickens; brothers, Eugene, Jonathan, Jerry, James, and Herb Dugger; and sister, Phyllis Nicarry.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pam Dickens of Dawsonville, GA; special daughter, Judy Shook, Cleveland, GA; brothers, David Dugger, Mountain City, TN, and Dale Dugger, Fredericksburg, PA; sisters, Mary Gregg, Johnson City, TN, Elsie Speakman, Chatham, PA, and Marlyn Bishop, Marathon, FL; and grandson, Joshua Dickens and his wife, Kristy of Douglasville, GA. 2 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.
A graveside funeral service was held at 1 PM Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. Rev. JR Fields officiated.
