Gene Roark, age 78 of Lloyd Road, Mtn City, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on June 25, 1940 to the late Noel L. Roark and Bessie Osborne Roark.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Georgia Lee Eastridge Roark. Three brothers: Coy Roark, Tom Roark, and William Roark. Two sisters: Gladys Hannah and Lois Presnell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Brenda Trivette (Kenneth) of Creston, NC; Karen Arnold (Wink) also of NC. His sons: Marty Roark of Mtn. City, and John Roark (Michelle) also of Mtn. City. Sister: Pauline Pennington of Mtn City, and brothers: Spencer Roark of Mtn City, and J.R. Roark of Creston, NC. Six Grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. As well as, several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a retired truck driver. He was an avid dirt track car racing fan, and also liked watching wrestling, and other sports.
A funeral service for Gene will be conducted at 1 pm Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel, of the Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 till 1 prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at the Roark Cemetery in Rock Creek, NC. Services will be officiated by Spencer Roark, and Lindsey McGrady.
