Emaline Perkins, age 94, of 176 Bayless Road, Jonesborough, TN passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough. She was born May 25, 1920 in Johnson County to the late Daniel Robinson and Elizabeth Smith Robinson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Frank Perkins Sr.; daughter Bertha Emma Robinson; sister Bertha Lewis; and her best friend Margie Peters. She was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. She was best known for being a caregiver for the sick until her retirement. She loved her horse Ginger and her dogs.
Survivors include: daughters: Barbara Hopkins of Jonesborough, TN and Joanne Heaton of Hampton, TN; sons: Robert Perkins of SC, Frank Perkins of Butler, TN, and Grady Perkins of Shady Valley, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family received friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 from the Eastside Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. Dennis Peterson officiating. A graveside service and interment followed in Rock Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Robin Hopkins, Danny Huddleston, Robert Perkins, Brandon Cole and Nathan Roark. Honorary pallbearers were Boyd Peters and Carl Blackburn.
