Doran Darrell ‘Dokken’ Swift, age 25, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was born on December 12, 1989 to Doran Hadley Swift Jr. and Sherry Lynn Welch Slagle. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Darrell Welch.
Dokken loved Honda cars and was a diehard Duke fan. He also loved motorcycles. Dokken was a great father and always had a big smile. He loved his family very much.
In addition to his parents, Doran ‘Doc’ Swift Jr. and Sherry Slagle and husband Doug Slagle, Dokken is survived by his wife, Trisha Vance Swift; daughters: Taylor Swift and Zoey Swift; son, Matthew Swift; sister, Sarah Swift; brother, Bud Swift; sister-in-law, Cindy Vance; brother-in-law, Josh Vance; grandparents: Doran and Emogene Swift and Sue Welch; aunts: Tammy Robbins and husband Blair and Pam Hacker; nieces and nephews: Kylie Hampton, Tanner Hampton, McKenzie Jennings, Nathaniel Ankrom and Jared Ankrom; cousins: Gabbi Robbins, Shawna Smith, Abby Hacker and Jesse Hacker; several more aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family received friends from 3-6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Courtner, Pastor Leonard Fletcher and Pastor Warren Stewart officiating.
Graveside service and interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Billy Bryant, Josh Vance, Mark Jennings, Chip Madison, Anthony Spicer and Roy Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Vanover, Adam Hampton, Blair Robbins and Joey Church.
