Dennis George Otis, 64, of Cape Coral FL, formerly of Mountain City TN, died on January 12, 2014, in hospice. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Connelly, of IN. He is survived by his wife, Jan Riley, of Cape Coral FL; his two sons of NC; one step-son of NC; his father, one brother, and one sister, all of IN; and one brother of CT; and many extended family.
Dennis always fully utilized the gifts God gave him. After retiring from Proctor and Gamble in NC at age 50, he continued to occasionally do contract work for the company. He also worked for Rudy and Karen Mehner at Doe Creek Farms Construction of Butler and assisted in the building of his own home and barn. He lived his dream of raising Tennessee Walking Horses in the TN mountains. He worked at American Water Heater in Johnson City and then moved on to N&N Ball and Roller Co. in Mountain City. Dennis was a talented and avid golfer, wood carver, fisherman, and dancer. He loved to play poker and pool. There was nothing he could not do when he put his mind to it. Dennis was a United States Marine and served his country with honor in Vietnam. Following cremation, he was interred at the
National Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota FL.
