Darrell ‘DG’ Robinson, age 62, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Kannapolis, NC on October 7, 1953 to the late Darrell Grey Robinson and Mayzel Robinson.
DG loved history, especially history relating to the Revolutionary War and the French Indian War. He also loved studying the culture of Native Americans, and strived to share the true Native American way of life with others. He truly loved learning anything concerning the history of America, but even more he enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge with others.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Mary Goodman Robinson, step-daughters, and Maggie Russell and husband Chuck, Polly Bennett and Husband Daren, step-sons Doug Goodman, and Andy Goodman and wife Monica, grandchildren John Goodman, Jackson Johnson, Alyssa Goodman, Molly Russell, Amanda Bennett, Dent Johnson, Drew Goodman, Robbie Goodman, and Riley Goodman, great grandchildren Madison Johnson and Jackson Johnson, his loved cat, Fluff, and by several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Minister Warren Stewart officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held in the fellowship hall following the memorial service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hyder, Doug Goodman, Dent Johnson, Josh Hyder, John Goodman, Jackson Johnson, Robbie Goodman, and Riley Goodman.
Flowers will be appreciated, and memorials in Mr. Robinson’s honor may be made to the Johnson
County Senior Citizens Center, 128 College St., Mountain City, TN 37683
