Mr. Dana Lewis, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Trade, Tennessee passed away Monday, February 28, 2011. He was a son of the late Dolphus C. and Inez Lewis. While living in Newark Dana was a member of Calvary Baptist and was active in serving the church. He was a Medic in the Korean War. Dana retired from Chrysler Corporation where he held a high position and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Dana loved gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Lewis, and one sister, Ruth Lewis.
Dana leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Jane, his Everything; Estle, mother of Lisa; brother: Toll Lewis and wife Hilda; their son William and granddaughter, Hannah Brenn Lewis; brother: Wallace Lewis and wife Ruby Lee; their daughters, Kelly and Missie; grandchildren: Adam, Dalton, Eli and Nora; brother: Kyle Lewis; his daughter: Rhonda and granddaughter Amber; brother: Earl Dean Lewis and wife Opal; their daughters: Wanda and Kathy and grandchildren Shawna and Josh; sister: Ruby Lewis Graybeal.
Funeral services for Dana Lewis were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 from the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Campbell officiating. The family received friends from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service. Military Service accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard and Entombment followed in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers were members of the Johnson County Honor Guard.
