Chad Wesley Dickens, age 35, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. He was born on March 20, 1980 to Ira and Louise Taylor Dickens. Chad was preceded in death by a nephew, Casey Eden; brother, Jeff Dickens; and grandparents, Vena and Bert Dickens and Ruth and Paul Taylor.
Chad loved his family very much, especially his children. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He was always happy and a joy to be around and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Chad loved spending time with his family and friends and spoiling his children.
He was a member of Pleasant View Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, Ira and Louise Dickens, Chad is survived by his wife, Callie Johnson Dickens; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeanne and Bill Johnson; daughters: Chloe and baby girl due in December, Onna Riley Dickens; sons: Weston Dickens and John ‘Scooter’ Dickens; sister, Becky Williams; brothers: Ronnie Dickens and David Dickens and wife Magdalena; special niece, Savana Eden; several more special nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Bowman officiating. The family received friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Graveside service and interment followed at the Dickens Family Cemetery (located on Red Brush Road). Pallbearers were David Dickens, Brandon Dickens, Kenneth Dickens, Van Arnold, Brian Hamm and Chris Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Chad’s sons, Weston and John; brother, Ronnie Dickens; and friend, Junior Johnson.
