CARL EDWARD DOBBINS, III
Carl Edward Dobbins, III, age 26, of Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Carl was a native of Carter County and was the son of Carl Edward Dobbins, II and Cindy Dawn Malone Dobbins. Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Jessica Dobbins; his paternal grandparents, Carl Dobbins, Sr. and Sue Dobbins; his maternal grandfather, J.B. Cross; and an uncle, Buddy Dobbins.
Carl worked as a Safe Lite Auto Tech and was a member OF Locust Gap Free Will Baptist Church. He was a youth minister and also teen Sunday school teacher and loved working with all the children of the church. He loved playing his guitar and singing during church services. He also enjoyed sports, baseball and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish Carls memory, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Savanna Guinn Dobbins, of the home; his daughter, Lillian Grace Dobbins, of the home; his maternal grandmother, Pansy Cross, Bluff City; his father-in-law, Johnny Guinn, Mountain City; his aunts and uncles, Mike and Rebecca Bellamy, Oxford, AL, Brenda Dobbins, Bristol, TN and Bryan Cross, Bristol, TN. Several cousins, great aunts and great uncles also survive, as well as his special friends, Cody Hardin, of Piney Flats, Reverend Shannon Courtner, of Butler, and Marty Richardson, of Erwin and his very special church family.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Carl Edward Dobbins, III was conducted at 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Shannon Courtner, officiating. Music was under the direction of Locust Gap Free Will Baptist Church Choir. The family received friends from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday; or at the residence at anytime.
The graveside service was conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Gambill-Locust Gap Cemetery in Johnson County. Active pallbearers were Cody Hardin, Marty Richardson, Mike Bellamy, Austin Trivette, Nathan Mink, Rick Mink, Sawyer Ralws, and Deacons-John Yates, Ed Walker, Mike Trivette and Jeff Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers were Hugh Walker and the Youth of Locust Gap Free Will Baptist Church.
