Arch Roberts

Mr. Arch “Junior” Roberts, age 89, of Mountain City, TN passed away Wednesday morning, October 3, 2012 in Johnson City Medical Center. He was born November 30, 1922 to the late Arch U. Roberts, Sr. and Sally Flote Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a member of Doe Valley Baptist Church and he loved playing the guitar, fishing, squirrel hunting and rabbit hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys B. Roberts; daughter: Margie Darlene Roberts; brother: Hugo Roberts; and three sisters: Virginia Shoun, Charlotte Wallace and Violet Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his special friends: Jack Smith and Harold Hess.
Survivors include: one daughter: Sallie Hall of Chicago, IL; six sons: Archie “Mac” Roberts and wife Lisa; Doug Osborne and wife Camilla; Charles Osborne and wife Denise; Darrell Osborne and wife Evelyn, all of Mountain City, TN; Lynn Osborne and wife Kim of Kingsport, TN and Delbert Osborne and wife Sheila of Glade Springs, VA; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for “Junior” Roberts were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Shoun, Rev. Steven Spencer and Rev. Leon Bryant officiating. The family received friends from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment followed in Lowe Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Christopher A. Johnson, Donnie Osborne, Mike Wallace, Douglas Osborne, Jamie Osborne and Carroll Canter. Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Lee Osborne, Charlie Osborne, Jake Osborne, Michael Canter, Zachary Garland and Rick Wallace
