Alice Eula Elizabeth Howard-Adams went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2015 at the age of 95. She was born on June 21, 1920 to the late Roby J. Howard, Sr. and Hallie Snyder Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Hazel Congdon and Hester Williams. She was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and prayed daily for those she loved, family, friends, and neighbors. Her desire was that all whom she met would come to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Walter G. Adams; four children, William R. Adams, DDS and wife Sacha, Joseph Adams and wife Jody, Trudy Adams Kittle and husband Kim, and Gregory L. Adams, M.D. and wife Carol; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Trula Muse and Lois Ann Adams; and brothers, Roby Howard Jr. and wife Dottie, and Malcolm Howard and wife Sue all of Mountain City, and Earl Howard of Shady Valley, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Mountain City. The family received friends from 12:00 – 1:00 prior to the service. Graveside service and interment followed the services from the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City. Active pallbearers were Jeremy Adams, Jonathan Adams, Sam Adams, Justin Greer, Jesse Kittle, Kim Kittle and John Muse.
