Joan Wolf Kendig (86) danced out of this world and into the next life on the morning of June 9, after a brief illness. A resident of Mountain City, TN, Joan was preceded in death by her husband James R. Kendig. She is survived by daughters Denise de Ribert and Colette de Ribert-Floyd; sisters Elisa Wolf and Virginia Diehl; granddaughters Laurel Johnson and Hannah Alleman; great-grandchildren Madison and Jackson; step-children Cheri Kendig-Crounse, Mark Kendig, and Suzanne Kendig-Sollenberger; and several nieces and nephews.
A native of York, PA, Joan was the daughter of Emma Schmied Wolf and Clarence N. Wolf. She was a former resident of Camp Hill, PA and Dunedin, FL. Joan will be remembered for her hospitality, her love of dance and music, her creativity, and her support of local artists in the communities she called home.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. Those wishing to honor Joan’s memory may make contributions to the Johnson County Tennessee Public Library in Mountain City, TN.
