Doe Elementary Open House and Title I meeting
Attention all Doe Elementary parents and students! Doe will be having its annual Open House and Title I meeting on Thursday, August 4th at 6:00pm. We will begin in the gym with a short Title I meeting and then parents and students will have an opportunity to meet their teacher, get information about the school year, and become familiar with our facility. We welcome all parents, students, and community members to attend. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Attention all RCE parents and students! RCE will be having its annual Open House on Thursday, July 28th from 5:00-6:00pm. Imagination Library Carnival August 30
The Friends of the Johnson County Library are inviting you to be a part of our Third Annual Carnival for the purpose of raising funds to support Johnson County’s Imagination Library Program.
The Imagination Library is a wonderful program for young children in our county. It provides each child with a free, age appropriate book from one month of age until his/her fifth birthday. Our goal is to register 100% of the eligible children to receive their books and to promote literacy in Johnson County. After all, our children are our future.
This year’s carnival will be held at the library on August 30, 2016 from 4 to 7. In order to make it a success we will need the help and support of our local community and it’s leaders. You may help us in any of the following ways: give a donation of $13 supports one child for a year and a $65 donation supports five children for one year, volunteer to work at the carnival, provide a gift or gift certificate to raffle at the carnival, or just by bringing your friends and family to the carnival. One hundred percent of the profits go to The Imagination Library of Johnson County and all offers of help will be greatly appreciated.

Each donor will receive a certificate of appreciation, and businesses/individuals making a donation valued at $25 or more will have their name on our 2017 t-shirt.

Football camp and season kick-off
The JCHS Longhorn football team will host their annual football camp on July 30th for kids in Kindergarten – 8th grades. Registration begins at 5:30 PM followed by the new fieldhouse open house at 6 PM, and camp runs from 6-9 PM ending with a movie and popcorn. Cost is $20 which includes a t-shirt. Come and enjoy a night of football with this year’s great group of high school Longhorns as we begin the 2016 football season!
Imagination Library seeks silent auction donations
The Imagination Library Board is asking for your support as they prepare for their third annual Carnival. During the Carnival, a Silent Auction will be held as a major fundraiser.
The Imagination Library fosters a love of reading among preschool children and their families by providing them with a specially selected book each month at no charge to them. The costs of this wonderful program are shared between the Tennessee Governor’s “Books from Birth” Foundation and Friends of the Johnson County Library.
The Carnival is one of the few ways funds are raised for this worthwhile project. This year it will be held at the Johnson County Library August 30, 2016 from 4-7 pm.
While kids are enjoying outdoor activities, a ticket-style Silent Auction will be held inside. Donations of new items and gift certificates for this auction will make a major impact in helping to run this worthwhile reading program throughout the year. Auction donations are gratefully accepted up to the July 29th deadline. Items will be on display and bidding tickets can be purchased August 1-30 at the library.
