Tomahawk welcomes Tim Chambers as sports editor

The Tomahawk announces the addition of Tim Chambers as the new sports editor at the weekly publication.
Chambers is well known in the area, having covered sports events at The Elizabethton Star for 13 years. His familiarity with the teams and coaching staffs in East Tennessee make for a smooth transition to Johnson County sports. His immediate plans include the addition of football standings, previous Friday night scores and upcoming schedules for the Three Rivers Conference. The Tomahawk will also now be covering Johnson County Middle School sports events. Chambers will be writing a column and doing various features throughout the year. He welcomes comments and suggestions to his email at [email protected] or talk to him in person when you see him at Johnson County sports happenings.
“I enjoyed covering Johnson County sports when I worked at the Elizabethton Star,” said Chambers. “The coaches, players and fans have always treated me with kindness and respect. I’m hoping to bring some fresh ideas to the sports section that people will enjoy reading. I thank God and the Tomahawk employees for giving me this opportunity.”
“Tim comes to us with a wealth of sports writing experience,” said Tomahawk editor Angie Gambill. “We are very pleased to welcome him and excited about the level of sports coverage that we will be able to provide. We have had nothing but positive comments from our readers about Tim joining our team.”
