Three charged with theft from recent crime scene; fourth arrested on drug charges

On Tuesday, January 12, 2016, the Johnson County Sheriff’s department received information of an unknown vehicle that was at the scene of a recent crime scene. According to the sheriff’s department, when the investigator arrived, three suspects were discovered in the process of taking items from the home that had been taped off previously. At that time, two of the individuals were taken into custody and one fled on foot.
The vehicle in their possession was found to be recently stolen from Virginia. After an approximate two-hour search, officers found the individual who had fled on foot going into a nearby residence. The owner of the residence was questioned by the officers asking if anyone else was in the home. The owner replied there was no one else and gave the officers permission to search the house. It was at that time the person who had fled on foot was found.
While the house was being searched, officers said the owner was seen trying to dispose of narcotics.
Brandon Charles Kestner, 30 years old from Abingdon, Virginia, was charged with attempted theft over $1,000, possession of theft over $10,000, aggravated burglary, vandalism over $500, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony and unlawful carrying of a weapon (a sawed off shotgun). His bond was set at $80,000.
Jonathon M. Thomas, 22 years old from Glade Springs, Virginia, was charged with attempted theft over $1,000, possession theft over $10,000, aggravated burglary, evading arrest by foot, vandalism over $500, resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest and search. His bond was set at $55,000.
Cynthia Johnson, 21 years old from Meadowview, Virginia, was charged with conspiracy aggravated burglary, conspiracy theft over $1,000, possession theft over $10,000 conspiracy and vandalism over $500. Her bond was set at $50,000.
Blaise Samion, 47 years old from Roan Creek Road, was charged with possession of hydrocodone, possession of heroin, possession of hydrocodone for resale and possession of methamphetamine for resale. His bond was set at $145,000.00.
The investigation is still ongoing and more charges are pending. Virginia will also have charges on the three individuals who had possession of the stolen vehicle.
