TBI Top Ten Captured during a traffic stop

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today learned that a North Carolina man who has been on the TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted was arrested during a traffic stop in North Carolina.
Michael Ray Pope, 28, last known address 75 Listers Drive, Glenwood, NC, was wanted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on two counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated assault as domestic violence, one count of reckless endangerment and three counts of kidnapping. Pope was pulled over
by the McDowell County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Department on June 8th, 2010. Law enforcement learned Pope was wanted in Tennessee and he was taken into custody. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail on Friday.
On December 7, 2007, Pope assaulted two males a residence in Mountain City, TN. Pope then forced a female victim into his car where there were two small children and drug her behind the car. The children were recovered and Pope had not been seen since.
