Successful New York artist and former Johnson Countian Wes Sherman has July show at ETSU

After living in Shady Valley and graduating from Johnson County High School in 1987, Wes Sherman has made a name for himself in the abstract art world with gallery representation at Baumgartner Gallery (Salzburg, Austria), The Arts Company (Nashville, TN) and domogallery (Summit, NJ). He has also been a visiting artist at Calumet College (Chicago, IL), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (Philadelphia, PA), and Freed-Hardeman University (Henderson, TN).
Sherman’s work enjoys regular with his most recent successes involving two simultaneous solo shows in Chicago, Illinois, where he received a nomination for a Louis Comfort Tiffany Biennial Award, and another solo show in New York City at Baumgartner Gallery.
Sherman recently accepted an invitation from East Tennessee State University to have a solo show at their Slocumb Galleries. The show is scheduled for July 5th – 22nd, with gallery showings between 8 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. According to Sherman, there will also be an artist reception on Thursday, July 7th, between 4 and 6 PM.

Sherman and wife, Vonda, and dog, Bingo, currently reside in New York City. His parents, Jim and Doris Sherman, and his sister Melissa Hutchinson, live in Shady Valley and work in Johnson County.
