Stewart's documents join courthouse historical display

Framed documents proposed by Ralph Stewart joined the historical display already in place on the walls of the Johnson County courthouse this week. Stewart brought a lawsuit against the county recently citing the display of the Ten Commandments and other documents but the exclusion of his proposal was unconstitutional. In the March meeting of the county commissioners, the council voted unanimously to allow Stewart’s display. The headings read “The Ten Commandments Are Not The Foundation of American Law” and “On the Legal Heritage of the Separation of Church and State.” Various quotes and excerpts are given including the two shown above.
