State’s best tasting water title awarded to Cold Springs Utility

The citizens of Tennessee are fortunate to have an abundance of water sources and local utilities that provide clean, reliable water that is essential to the quality of life for those who depend on it every day throughout the state.
For the customers of Cold Springs Utility District, they can now also take pride in knowing that their water ‘reigns’ supreme in Tennessee in 2014 as it was recently named the state’s best tasting water in a statewide competition conducted by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD).
The statewide ‘Best Tasting Water’ competition was recently held by TAUD at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. The drinking water samples were judged on their clarity, bouquet and taste. Judges for the annual competition were Tisha Calabrese-Benton with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation; Keith Head and David Collett with the USDA Rural Development; and Mary Constantine, longtime food writer with the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
