Six Johnson Countians arrested on drug charges

On September 25, the Johnson County Sheriff Department, working together with the Watauga County Sheriff’s office, Drug Enforcement Administration, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Damascus Police Department, assisted in the arrest of six offenders. The joint investigation was ongoing since November 2014. All offenders are being held at the Johnson County Jail at this time with no bond. The following were arrested on drug related charges, including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine: David M. Lipford, 29 of Highway 91N; David J. Lipford, 49, of Divide Road; Jason Lipford, 31, of Divide Road; Gail Lipford, 47, of Divide Road; Stormie Morefield, 22 of Laurel Road, and Joseph Church, 26, of Pedro Shoun Lane.
